welcome to Bangor, wales

The cathedral and university city of Bangor is located on the north-west coast of Wales where the Menai Straits enter Conwy Bay, in the county of Gwynedd, approximately 235 miles north-west of London and 51 miles west of Chester.

The city has a population of around 20,000. Administratively it is within the local government district of Gwynedd (one of 22 principal areas of Wales) which covers an area of approximately 2,548 sq kms.

The conference will take place at the Pontio Arts Centre on the Bangor University campus. Pontio is a Welsh word that means “to bridge,” and the Centre acts like a bridge connecting the University with the local community in north-west Wales. Our hope is that by choosing this venue, the conference can be another way of building bridges, connecting with the mindfulness community and the larger world. Join us at this special place where we bring people together to share and learn.
